Randy Spurgeon wanted to be an airman, just like his
father, who served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. Randy
enlisted in the air Force after his high school graduation in 1985, and
was assigned to Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio,
Texas
for basic training. He received advanced training at Sheppard Air Force
Base in Wichita Falls,
Texas
as an aircraft mechanic.
Randy was stationed at Wright Patterson Air Force
Base in Dayton,
Ohio, and reenlisted in 1989. He served in the Operation Desert Storm in 1990
– 1991, and then was assigned to Aviano Air Base in Aviano,
Italy; Pope Air Force Base in
Fayetteville,
North Carolina, and Spangdahlem Air Base in
Spangdahlem,
Germany. He currently is stationed at Davis Monthan Air Force Base in Tucson,
Arizona.
