Honor A Veteran Carey
Samuels Lance
Corporal United States Marines Hometown: Omaha, Nebraska Carey Samuels grew up poor on a rundown farm outside of Omaha, and he joined the United States Marines to escape the poverty that was all he had ever known. Assigned to the 3rd Marine Division at Camp Butler on Okinawa, Carey worked in the motor pool and learned to be a first rate mechanic. He had planed to reenlist, but those plans were curt short when his mother died, and he returned to Omaha to help his father with his five younger siblings. Carey worked for several garages in Omaha, and recently took a job with the State of Nebraska as a mechanic. He and his wife Lori have twin boys, and a newborn daughter.
